Is there a charge for membership?
No – membership is free
Does the Service run at the weekends or Bank Holidays?
We don’t operate on Bank Holidays at the moment.
Where/ how far can the service be used to travel?
Our vehicles currently operate within the Rochford District and Castle Point Borough, with journeys also extending into the Southend-on-Sea Borough and Basildon.
Can I travel with a friend or family member?
Companions may travel with a member of Wyvern when acting as a carer or escort, and a return fare of £2 is payable.
How far in advance can transport be booked?
Advance bookings can be made up to seven (7) days ahead of the date required. The cut off time for booking transport is 10:00 on the day before the day you are going to travel.
When do pick ups for travel start and finish?
The minibus service runs Monday to Friday. The first pick up is 08:45 am and the last return 3:45 pm but can be subject to change.
Can the service be used for travel to hospital/medical appointments?
We operate a social car scheme with volunteer drivers who provide their own transport to take members to hospital and medical appointments when our minibus service is unable to accommodate such trips.
Is my club/organisation eligible to become a group member of Wyvern Community Transport?
Yes, clubs in our operating area can become members of our scheme. They can either request our transport service or hire a vehicle under a brokerage scheme. MIDAS training can be arranged for clubs who have their own driver.
Can I travel with my motorised scooter?
Yes you can, but we will need to carry out a risk assessment first. You will need to leave your mobility device (unless it is an electric powered wheelchair) and travel in a passenger seat during the journey. Your mobility device will be loaded and unloaded for you.
I am blind – can my guide dog come with me?
Yes, you can travel with your guide dog.
